New Age Perspective

After realizing that very few persons could Become Self-actualizing, Abraham Maslow created Transpersonal Psychology with the higher goal of Transcending objective reality. This launched the New Age Movement with promises that Self-is-god in one’s own subjective reality – when you imagine this during an altered state of consciousness.

Because there are so many New Age books in the "self-help" and "religion" sections of book stores, I critique this spiritual counterfeit so spiritual seekers will avoid New Age promises that are unpredictable and exist only within one's own imagination.

Do you know anyone who has Become "Self-as-god" by imagining that
"Self-is-god" already? If so, why would this person need to take mind-altering drugs and seek spiritual assistance from mediums to Become Self-as-god, since Self-is-god already?

The
psychobabble of the Human Potential Movement attracted 83% of Americans to be seekers of Self-fulfillment that did not result.
[See Daniel Yankelovich's New Rules: Searching for Self-fulfillment in a World Turned Upside Down,1981.] The New Age Movement is based on even more psychobabble and proclaims even more outrageous promises will "happen" when you imagine them – but this might require several reincarnations until they finally "happen," if they ever do. You can read Excerpts on New Age from Chapter 13.
